D2994 Class 07 Ruston & Hornsby 0-6-0DE at Blue Anchor 11th September 987
The Class 07 shunters were designed to replace Class USA steam locomotives on the Southampton Docks system and were introduced from 1961. With the closure of much of the Docks railways they became surplus and some were scrapped, entered Departmental Service or went to Preservation. D2994 was built in 1962 and under TOPS became 07 010. After a spell on the West Somerset Railway, where it is seen here at the head of a short demonstration freight, it is now located on the Avon Valley Railway near Bristol.
