266. N792FT Douglas DC-8-63CF AFA American Flyers Airline LGW 11JUN69

Replacing an earlier scanned slide with a better version 10-Jul-15, plus Topaz DeNoise AI 20-Sep-23.

 

N792FT was built with a main-deck cargo door and could be used as a passenger, freight or 'combi' aircraft. It was delivered to Flying Tiger Line in Mar-69 and leased to AFA American Flyers Airline two months later in late May-69.

 

It was returned to Flying Tiger in May-70. In Jan-84 it was converted to DC-8-73CF standard with CFM.56 engines and sold to Emery Worldwide.

 

In Sep-99 it was sold to Cumberland Leasing Co and leased back to Emery. It was returned to Cumberland Leasing in Sep-01 and stored at Roswell, NM, USA. In Aug-02 it was sold to Logair LLC and sold again in Nov-02 to Aerofreighter LLC.

 

It was leased to ATI Air Transport International as N604BX in Mar-05. It was sold to CAM Cargo Aircraft Management Inc in Jan-10 while the lease to ATI continued. The aircraft was permanently retired at Marana, AZ, USA in Dec-12 and subsequently broken up.
