9H-IHL Airbus A320-231 Lauda Europe (Ryanair) PMI 27JUN22
Lauda Europe, a Ryanair subsidiary, operating services for Ryanair.
First flown with the Airbus test registration F-WWII, this aircraft was delivered to ILFC and leased to Kingfisher Airlines, India as VT-KFV in Apr-07. The airline was grounded due to industrial action at the end of Sep-12 and this aircraft was stored at Mumbai, India.
The Indian Government withdrew Kingfisher's AOC in mid Oct-12 and the company ceased operations. ILFC was refused permission to repossess the aircraft by the Indian Courts citing 'outstanding debts'. It was eventually released in early Jun-13, re-registered EI-EYF and ferried to Manila, Philippines for major maintenance.
It was leased to Shaheen Air International, Pakistan as AP-BLM in Nov-13. The aircraft was returned to the lessor in mid Aug-18, just a few days before Shaheen ceased operations. It was stored at Montpelier, France, transferred to Wilmington Trust SP Services and re-registered OE-IHL.
In Feb-19 the aircraft was leased to Lauder Airlines, Austria in Feb-19. This version of Lauder was owned by Ryanair who had decided that landing & handling charges at Vienna were too high and had 'consultations' with the Airport Company and the outcome was that Ryanair closed down the Vienna Base and moved the company to Malta.
It was renamed Lauda Europe in Dec-20 and this aircraft was re-registered 9H-IHL. Lauda Europe almost exclusively operate on behalf of Ryanair, using Ryanair flight numbers. The exception being flights from European points into Vienna which operate using the Lauda flight prefix 'LW'. Current, updated 11-Jun-25.
