Blimey, this history is longer than I expected... First flown with the Airbus test registration D-AVZK, this aircraft was delivered to ILFC and leased to Novair Sweden as SE-RDN in Apr-04. It was withdrawn from service and stored at Woensdrecht, Netherlands at the end of Feb-16. It was returned to AerCap in May-16.
Four days later the aircraft was leased to SmartLynx Airlines, Latvia as YL-LCQ and immediately wet-leased to Thomas Cook Airlines UK, based at London-Gatwick for the 2016 summer season. It returned to SmartLynx at the end of Oct-16.
In Mar-17 it was wet-leased, short-term, to Novair Sweden and returned to SmartLynx in Apr-17. at the end of the month it was again leased to Thomas Cook Airlines UK for the summer season, returning to SmartLynx in early Nov-17.
The aircraft was wet-leased to Condor Flugdienst in Jan-18 for three months, returning to SmartLynx at the end of Apr-18. The following day it was wet-leased to Thomas Cook Airlines UK for another summer season, this time based at Stansted, UK and returned to SmartLynx in Nov-18.
It was wet-leased to Jetstar Pacific Airlines, Vietnam in Jan-19 for one month, returning to SmartLynx in Feb-19. It was wet-leased, short-term to LOT Polish Airlines for a week in Mar-19. Then it was wet-leased to Thomas Cook Airlines UK at Stansted for a final summer season at the end of Mar-19.
The Thomas Cook Group UK ceased operations on 23-Sep-19, taking Thomas Cook Airlines UK with it. The aircraft returned to Smart Lynx and immediately operated Thomas Cook repatriation services for the UK CAA using Titan Airways, UK flight numbers for two weeks and returned to SmartLynx in early Oct-19.
The aircraft was wet-leased to Jet2,com the following day and returned to SmartLynx a month later in early Nov-19. It was stored at Larnaca, Cyprus in Jan-20 at the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic and returned to service in Jun-21. The aircraft was wet-leased to RAM Royal Air Maroc in Jul-21 and returned to SmartLynx in Sep-21.
In Apr-22 it was wet-leased to Jet2,com for another summer season, this time based at Birmingham, UK. It returned to SmartLynx in Nov-22. It was stored at Riga, Latvia in Nov-22 and returned to service in mid Mar-23 when it was wet-leased to AnadoluJet, Turkiye.
AnadoluJet was renamed A Jet Airlines at the end of Mar-24. The wet-lease continued until the aircraft returned to SmartLynx in Dec-24. It operated occasional flights for SmartLynx and SmartLynx Malta before being stored at Riga in mid Mar-25. The aircraft was again wet-leased to A Jet Airlines, Turkiye in mid Jul-25. The lease continues. Current, updated 24-Aug-25.
