C-GITU 1 Airbus A321-211 Air Canada YVR 09JUL04

Replacing an earlier scanned photo with a better version, plus Topaz DeNoise AI 29-Jul-25.

Fleet No: "451".

First flown with the Airbus test registration D-AVZM, this aircraft was delivered to Air Canada as C-GITU in Nov-01. It was sold to Reisling (Germany) as D-AMTA in Jun-02 and immediately leased back to Air Canada as C-GITU (see note below).

The aircraft was repainted in 'Star Alliance' livery at Montreal-YUL in Nov-14. It was removed from service and stored at Kansas City, MO, USA in Jan-21 as a consequence of the COVID-19 Pandemic and returned to service on 16-Jun-21. Current, updated 29-Jul-25.

Note: A paper transaction. I've never seen this way of selling an aircraft to a lessor, either before or since! Air Canada sold it to Reisling (Germany) as D-AMTA on 17-Jun-02 and it was immediately leased back to them on the same day as C-GITU again. The German registration never appeared on the aircraft and it continued in service in Canada as C-GITU.
