Tiny Valley

and you walked together toward

love in a green meadow

to understand anything of skin,

the aspens’ flicker of dizzy,

ants, dirt over your face

*

darkness brought the room closer

made the earth shake out

of your ear here touch

the unimaginable bareness could make

us small again, again delight

*

flame is what wind wants

out of my body the straw

body turning to mice now

a heart forests beneath sleeping

and fang light clanging out
