Built to make you feel small

Liverpool Cathedral: the largest in the UK and fifth largest in the world. My dad worked on this building in the mid '50s, renovating and extending the electrical wiring. The wiring had to be laid in the seams between the huge sandstone blocks. Masons would dig out the seams, dad (and the other electricians) would lay the wiring, zigzagging around the huge blocks, and the masons would then refill the seams. It's a big, strong building and the spiritual home of Merseyside Anglicans.
