18th Century Tibetan Wall Scroll... as Sequential Art!
The large scroll from the 18th Century in the middle tells the story of a 12th century magician, the small images are details from the scroll that depict certain scenes from his life, and the comics pages next to those small images are from a 1991 graphic novel that tells the story of the same 12th century legendary figure.
It's almost like the one is the short film version of the other. Like the difference between a music video montage of short scenes that take place over a long period of time and a feature-length bio-pic film. Showing different modes of sequential art from different centuries. [See: detail here.]
