Color Filters

I took apart my old nec spectraview color sensor. It's just a rebadged x-rite model. It was getting so old that I was getting some weird readings from it.

The filters seem to be made of many layers. The primary layer is a thick piece of color plastic. It seems to be glued to multiple layers of color films under it. I didn't see any discoloration, but the glue was clearly failing. This picture is after I had separated the plastic squares from the films underneath, but the crystals emanating from the edges was there before I pried them loose.
