taking in the sights

i realize some things about myself. i think that is a good thing... self-realization. on my recent trip, i realized that i look at new surroundings like a child does. filled with awe and appreciation for the beauty. i was dumbstruck so many times by the sheer delights for the eyes, be it futuristic buildings, old world architecture, vast skies, rolling hills, calm seas, or the faces of friends i have anticipated meeting. childlike? perhaps. completely appreciative? absolutely. i hope i conveyed one tenth of my gratitude...
