It seems impossible, given that Gracie seemed like she'd never be the same again after last week, but here she is today, romping and frolicking in Laguna Salada, near the golf course and the beach in Pacifica.
So this really is how it's going to be: You take it one day at a time, and you're really really happy with some of them.
For the record, we've decided not to pursue radiation and chemotherapy.
If there were some indication that all the treatment could help her beat the cancer, we'd do it . But all that's offered in return for weeks and weeks of visits to the vet is maybe a few extra months.
It's easy to be think that it's the right decision on days like today when she's feeling good. But last week the decision seemed cruel and shortsighted. I'm sure I'll be torn about it all along.
Also for the record: Her ears don't ever stick up like this ... except when she's jumping for joy and the camera freezes the action ... : )
