Although the new cloister is a very attractive space overall, there are disappointing aspects. I've chosen not to upload photographs of these: to do so would be churlish and I do believe the space merits respect. But, a small, nicely-designed bench is slowly rotting, some paving is a bit crooked, weather staining in parts and a water feature that is absurdly small just don't do the cloister justice - and crisp architecture like this simply doesn't tolerate any dilapidation, it sticks out like a rather sore thumb. I've left this photograph just as a demonstration of perhaps unintended consequences of reflective surfaces - bringing the not-so-nice outside world in.
