new face

so several months ago my system was thrown a little off balance due to stress and whatnot. one of the symptoms was my skin being way off balance. constant breakouts, redness, and really dark circles under my eyes.

as part of the expansion at work, we brought an esthetician named rose on board. every friday i do her weekend blowdry for free. after looking at my skin, she told me to book an appointment with her as repayment: "i'm going to get rid of these problems and rebalance everything, and get you back some lost years."

so last tuesday, i shaved the beard to give her as much canvas to work with as i could, and headed to the salon.

the first step was two cleansings to get rid of surface dirt and oil. next was the "dead sea mask"- mud from the bottom of the dead sea which draws out any nastiness under the surface and brings it right to the top. to speed it up, she put me under a steamer for ten minutes. when she rinsed it off, she said "okay, jackpot. here we go..." and i counted her pop over fifty pimples that had surfaced from under the skin. following that was an enzyme treatment- the enzyme eats dead skin cells and exposes the newer skin. after the enzyme, she applied moisturizer and used a glass wand carrying an electrical current to zap the moisture into the skin and force the pores closed.

this tickled quite a bit.

finally a restoring and repairing serum made from vitamin c was used.

i left looking a little red and swollen, but after a couple of hours i felt great. and it must have worked, because co-workers and clients have been noticing. the dark circles are gone, (i'm a little puffy here from too little sleep last night), the breakouts are no more, and she even got rid of some of the wrinkles!

so i look about thirteen.

but i feel a whole lot better.
