LTG Ferriter and CSM Rice attend Armed Forces River Parade
LTG Mike Ferriter, CSM Earl Rice, MAJ Kniffen and COL Burns attended the second annual Armed Forces Day River Parade May 18 at the River Walk. They rode on the Army float along with Army South Commanding General MG Frederick Rudesheim and CSM Lynice Thorpe and members from the 323rd Army Band, "Fort Sam's Own." The parade is an annual event sponsored by the Paseo del Rio Association. Twenty-five professionally decorated floats travel down the River Walk, themed according to their participants - all branches of service, veterans of recent conflicts, and military support groups. The floats featured live entertainment from military groups, as well as local artists who wished to dedicate their talents to honor the troops.
