Icy Pool ...Explored 2-8-'23
Side by side, Mallard mates chill out in an icy pool near the shoreline. Standing in two inches of freezing water, they're seemingly unaffected by it.
I've read somewhere that their bodies have mechanisms to deal with cold so as not to have pain or to have feet that freeze hard and cause life-threatening harm. Pretty amazing if you ask me!
