Unfolding Ideas and Processes - Tate Modern

Learning to use methods of the Surrealists to access the subconscious

In groups of 4 we followed a process where each person has a piece of paper. The first step is to write down an indefinite article i,e: His, her, a, the and then to fold the paper over so that the word cannot be seen and pass it to the person to your right. This continues on writing down next a noun, then verb, then another indefinite article (i,e, his, her, the, a) Once this is over you open the paper and then read out the sentence you have created.

Some that we came up with were:

A curious book shakes her summery boots

Her angry penguin loved the fed up anvil

The congenial nanny ran the slow elevator

A sparkling blanket on an evocative forest

The happy chair inspires the yellow cheek
