I arrange all of my tools at the right side of the screen to minimize mousing. The palettes open and close often, but the layout of them stays the same.
To set up this shot. I moved the palettes up, but normally, they are ~30px from the bottom of the menu bar. This is so that they don't overlap the ruler I always have open when working on files.
