The Wild Moor
This has to be my favourite image from our ten days in the Peak District, sums up the best of the whole area: dark and bleak and wild. It can beautiful like most of this day; other times it is threatening, dangerous even, but that is the appeal. At the start of my day there was bright sunshine then at the top the cloud came down without warning (see image in first comment box) and people could get disoriented and lost (two had to be rescued only this week) Then by the time I reached this point there was visibility once again, with only the wet path as proof of the previous minutes. I did think twice about going up there alone but hey, the name's Bond, Jane Bond..........
