Milky Way
Fairly clear sky tonight so photographed the Milky Way. The orange glow of the streetlights in Stornoway lit up some light cloud at the foot of the frame.
Getting precise focus on these AF-S lenses in extremely low light remains a problem - I set the lens at the infinity mark - but the focusing ring carries on rotating about 5 millimetres, focusing beyond infinity! I guess a fast old manual focus wideangle or fisheye would be a better choice for this sort of work.
Nikon D5000 : Exposure 30 secs : Aperture f3.5 : ISO 6400 : 16-85mm lens at widest angle. Nikon RAW developed in Lightroom and converted to JPG in Photoshop.
