North of Varna on Bulgaria's Black Sea Coast.

 

The area changed hands between Bulgaria and Romania a few times early last century during the Balkan Wars and The Great War.

It was peacefully returned to Bulgaria through the 1940 Treaty of Craiova, which was mediated by Italy and Germany.
