Ink
This is a photo of ink dropped in water. I was set up outside with a white poster background and "injected" blue and yellow ink into the water using two syringes which creates a really cool billowy and stringy effect. I did some coloring and contrast work in Lightroom to really make the color pop.
Color can be emphasized over the subject by making the subject more ambiguous and/or less unique. In this case I made the subject more ambiguous by using the cool shape and texture created by the ink and water.
