NGC5139 Omega Centauri
Omega Centauri, NGC-5139. Arguably Earths most spectacular Globular Cluster, I have a soft spot for Tuc47!
Almost 16,000 light years from us with a diameter of 150 light years it hosts an estimated 10 million stars. It is thought to be the remnant of a disrupted dwarf galaxy that out Milky Way galaxy has consumed.
Last weekend I added an hour on 2 minute exposures to my 5 minute exposures from last month so as to get more detail in the core.
Captured with my Sony A99, TS-Photoline 80mm triplet guided on my HEQ5-Pro mount. EQMOD, Cartes-Du-Ciel, PHD2 were used for the captures on an HP Spectra Ultrabook.
Processed in Pixinsight 1.8.5 and Photoshop CC2017.
