This fern is one of the most unique ferns I have ever seen. Some fronds have full, regular looking leaves. Other fronds have only lacy looking leaves. Still other fronds have both. I have tried to show examples of each here. My mother has started several new ferns from runners from this fern and they all have the same variations. I have tried to describe it to nurserymen but they all look at me like I am nuts (no comments, please). The fern was given to my grandmother by a neighbor many, many years ago. It is believed that the neighbor's aunt brought the fern to the States from Germany in the 1800's.
