A chamber of underground victorian defensive position in Newhaven

Fort Newhaven, the Victorian coastal defences at Newhaven, South East England, UK.

The enterance to this tunnel had been broken open so I explored it. Unfortunatley a lot of rubbish had been dumped in it.

It was an intresting investigation, the care taken with the brickwork, some of it almost decorative and not utilitarian.
