I had hoped to spend the majority of my free time between tasks today following the raising the Costa Concordia instead I ended up following yet another tragedy; this time in Washington at the Navy Yard.

 

How horrifying for those people who were there. Can you imagine being trapped in such a situation? I really can't, and maybe that's why I'm glued to the news when these events occur.

 

Fortunately my boss has a TV in his office and didn't mind that I turned the volume up so I could hear the updates as the day went on. I feel for those people who had to experience that today, and really feel for those who don't have loved ones coming home from work today.

 

What a way to start the week.

 

I hope everyone had a decent day in spite of the events.
