Step trash can with retro-fitted handle

I was opposed to throwing this out and buying a new one when a flimsy plastic bit in the hinge broke and rendered the step opener useless. So I got out a spare handle I had in my toolbox, tapped screw holes for it with an eight-penny nail, and screwed it on to the lid.
