they say you shouldn't

run from your problems

that may be good advice for some

but it left me feeling like every day

was in some way problematic

I'm an automatic memory maker

good or bad, I choke on both

my mind is a castle where I keep them

and my mouth is the moat

set to sea in a lifelong boat

captained by a dark-eyed prince

who denied his own deliverance

he was the one who whistled whispers

into your misty messages

drawn in by the lighthouse effect

crying at your GPS

till it gets solemn

learning to run

from your

problems
