Launch event of the 38th FAO Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean

The government of Guyana and FAO launched the 38th Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The event was attended by Guyana's Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha, Guyana's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hugh Todd, FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean, Mario Lubetkin, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Guyana, Yeşim Oruç, Secretary General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Carla Barnett and Gillian Smith, FAO Representative in Guyana.
The Regional Conference is held every two years and brings together the governments of all 33 Member States of FAO in Latin America and the Caribbean to establish the regional priorities of the Organization for the next biennium.
