Side Street - わきみち

Spring is here, and I couldn't be more relieved to be out of the crucible of winter. I took this photo from the platform of a local train station after work. It was time to head home for a quiet night. I was pleasantly surprised to find dusk still lingering and the air fresh and cool. It was one of those moments where you feel the weight of the week suddenly fall off your shoulders. I looked across the platform and saw this view. I've seen it countless times, but somehow it was something new - or maybe I was looking with more appreciative eyes...

 

A year ago, I wouldn't have thought even once about this view. But, breathing the Spring air, and Spring Break coming up, I can see more colors in the world around me...
