Most of Dinosaur Provincial Park is a Natural Preserve, where regular visitors can't go except on guided tours. (Given what I observed of people’s sign-following abilities in the public access areas, this is a good thing.)
The Great Badlands Hike is a half-day trek into some of the most beautiful and rugged parts of the park. We've designed this hike over steep slopes and through coulees specially for the adventurous. You will discover how fossil hunters tackle “les mauvaises terres à traverser” in their search for dinosaur bones.
Notes
The Great Badlands Hike lasts 4 hours long. The hike is rated "difficult" — 6 kilometres in rugged badlands.
This program is not wheelchair accessible.
Participants must be at least 10 years old. Children 10-14 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
There is a maximum of 19 participants on this hike.
For your safety and comfort, please bring water,a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent. Participants must wear sturdy closed toe and heel footwear.
