Fumarolles' mineral

Santorini is an volcanic archipalego well-known for its minoan eruption.

The last eruption occured in the mid-xxth century on the Nea kameni island in the center of the Santorini caldeira.

Since a few monthes, a new seismic activity is registred under this island but actually, no sign of a volcanic unrest are visible.

This photo, taken in April 2010, show an example of mineral observed near a fumarolles' vent in the Eastern part of nea Kameni island.
