mary's cake

my first decorated cake (!) - for a friend's child's first birthday.

 

it was chocolate chip pound cake filled with whipped chocolate ganache and a couple of crisp layers of melted chocolate. Buttercream icing and chocolate dots. Recipes in The Whimsical Bakehouse.

 

I should have taken a picture of the inside, but it was easily the best cake I've every tasted. YUM.
