Successful Coteaching in Multi-Proficiency Level English Classrooms
Peace Corps Volunteers worked alongside their Indonesian counterparts to learn how to successfully create a productive and collaborative co-teaching relationship in this workshop by Brunei-U.S. EL Fellow Rebecca Taylor. Participants then had the opportunity to see how to use a specific co-teaching model or intervention technique to reach students who have varying English-proficiency levels.
This hands-on workshop had participants working together to create stimulating and level-appropriate lesson plans for students, determine the best course of action to take when a student’s proficiency level differs from the rest of the class, and work together to solve problems, teach creatively, and support student learning.
