Kate Mulvey - Rugove, Kosovo
On Earth Day, 2015, 38 volunteers including English Language Fellow Kate Mulvey, American Corner Pristina, University of Pristina students and two local NGOs traveled to Rugove, Kosovo to conduct an Earth Day activity. Participants cleaned a hiking trail, cleaned the highway leading to the trail, and performed an assessment of needed repairs along the bridge sections of the trail. Participants stated it was a “great day”, they enjoyed the time, and they felt a sense of accomplishment in the work. Approximately 20 bags of trash were picked up and then transported back to town to a disposal site.
