(Not) Black Bread

A sourdough rye from Hamelan's book. Bit of a disappointment as it wasn't actually black, but I did screw up at least one part of the recipe. It calls for a bit of old bread, soaked in coffee overnight. You're supposed to re-bake the old bread until it's quite dark, and I neglected that step. Not sure how much difference that might have made with regard to color. The coffee gave this some zing. Not something to eat before bed.
