Pollination . . .
. . . OK, a quick quiz, how many of you remember how flowers trick bees and other insects into carrying pollen from flower to flower? A: they put the sugar the bees want deep inside the flower, so the bees, or in this case a gentle, giant bumblebee that really didn't mind my macro lens, have to bump up against the pollen on the ends of the long skinny stamens, and get covered in the stuff and then deliver it to the next flower! Pretty sneaky huh?
Have a great weekend and Friday Facebook and Flickr friends!
