Blankets Off
So far this year we've seen temps in double digits below zero and in the 50's, been spooked by the ice on the pond shifting and cracking, been startled by the deer and coyotes interacting and getting tangled in the fencing, had a possum stuck in a downspout, had stray cats visiting...they've been here just over 2 months now and have settled in nicely :-) I'm pretty comfortable helping take care of them and have started learning how to properly and safely handle them. Of course, there's SO much to continue learning and there have been some unnerving situations but that's all part of it. Today after Chello put his head into his halter for me, before I led him out, he unexpectedly nuzzled my face and neck very affectionately. He's always been super friendly with me but not like that. I was so focused on the tasks at hand I'd forgotten about it until reflecting on the day.
