Two weeks ago I found this quick tutorial about the LAB colour mode in Photoshop. After trying the mode, I immediately ordered this book about the subject (because people in that tutorial thread recommended it).
I have been using LAB mode to edit my pictures while waiting for the book, but today the book finally arrived. I have read first two chapters, and apparently LAB mode is especially efficient in improving pictures of canyons. I don't have any canyon photos, so I decided to try the techiniques on this photo of my mother and my aunt from Teide, Tenerife. I have only used the most basic techniques in this photo, but already the results are pretty good.
