The Experts Confer

Okay, so am I escaping for the weekend? Can you escape when you aren't trapped? Or is being surrounded by things I like to do and not feeling the need to reach out a kind of trap? Perhaps. Is this a vacation, then? Certainly it is, in all senses of the word. I am leaving my established base of operation, my tools, my daily routine, and going somewhere else. More importantly though, it's a holiday, a break in my routine, an adventure. I see people over this weekend that I see only once a year at this event, yet we are friends. We've shared adventures over the years and watched each other's cars change and improve. We send each other pictures in the weeks following. We look forward to seeing each other next year. Best of all, Carol and I get to spend lots of time together.
