Bemis Brook Falls
Photo of Bemis Brook Falls in the town of Hart's Location, New Hampshire. The location is within the White Mountains, in Crawford Notch State Park. The falls are accessed from the Bemis Brook Trail, a side trail off of Arethusa Falls Trail. Bemis Brook Falls, with a total height of about 30 feet over 4 tiers, is carved through reddish orange granite ledges. The source of the falls is Bemis Brook.
On the way to Bemis Brook Falls, you pass Coliseum Falls, another small but beautiful waterfall. I saw only one group of three people while on this trail and photographing its waterfalls. Most people stay on the Arethusa Falls Trail, which leads to the popular Arethusa Falls. With a height of 140 feet, Arethusa Falls is generally regarded as the waterfall with the highest single drop in New Hampshire.
