Sousse TN - Catacombs of Sousse 02

In 1888 the French discovered the catacombs of Sousse in which the Christians of the Roman province of Ifrikia buried her dead people from the end of the 2nd century up to the end of the 3rd century.

The catacombs apply about in length of 5 km and about 240 ways with about 15,000 tombs. From the catacombs in Sousse which are better received than in Rome or Naples one can visit, unfortunately, only quite a small part, a way of about 300-m length with 105 graves.
