This week is about emotions and diabetes. My son could not have been happier when he saw that there was a postcard from another Type 1 just for him. It was even greater that it was from somewhere he had to look up on his world map.
I know that Amylia, being the sweetheart she is, sent many of these postcards out before leaving Taiwan. But the card that was delivered to our door was special. Special because in that moment it made my boy feel connected. Like he belongs to some secret club just for cool people. When she talks about her blood sugar on her trip, he read every word like he was decoding their own special language.
