Oak Flat Lookout
The US Forest Service rents out decommissioned forest fire lookout towers (they now use planes) to the public. The structures are pretty old, but well built. We stayed two nights. Worst sleep of my life (owing to the howling wind, tower shaking) but waking up 40 feet in the air with panoramic views ain't half bad.
