Bowl of Pipe Nebula and Snake Nebula
This image includes the bowl of the Pipe Nebula and the Snake Nebula (designated Barnard 78 LDN 48 and Barnard 72 LDN 66 respectively). The Snake is the tiny twisted dark nebula located near the top left corner. This area is near the galactic center of the Milky Way. The golden color is the aggregate light from millions of older stars which borders a less dense area on the lower right. This is a 4 hour guided image integration of 7 minute subframes.
