19th October 2018. Looking immaculate in its crimson red livery. LMS 8P Princess Coronation 4-6-2 No.6233 Duchess Of Sutherland pauses at Buckley Wells before they open the gates to let the engine precede [tender first] to Bury Bolton Street Station.
The locomotive had been built in 1938 at Crewe Works were 38 of the Class had been built. Sadly, Duchess of Sutherland is only one of three of the Class to survive into preservation. No.6233 had been kindly loaned from the Midland Railway - Butterley; and was the guest locomotive for the East Lancashire Railway Autumn Steam Gala.
