Wyoming State Capitol Detail (Cheyenne, Wyoming)

This lovely structure was built in 1887 and is located at the northwest end of Capitol Avenue. Capitol, which actually extends north of this building on the other side, connects the front of the Wyoming State Capitol to of the old Union Pacific train depot in downtown Cheyenne.

The edifice was designed by David W. Gibbs and William DuBois, and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. In 1987 it was designated a National Historic Landmark.

This city is one of the smallest state capitals in the United States with around 60,000 residents.
