YOKOHAMA, Japan (Sept. 1, 2012) Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka Port Operations Department Sailors onboard USS Puyallup, Yard Tug 806 (YT 806) simulate delivering food, clothing, first aid kits and other items to Japanese disaster workers during the 33rd annual âBosai Kunrenâ or âdisaster prevention training drill in Yokohama harbor. The training combines disaster response teams from nine locations in Japan; Tokyo city, Saitama Prefecture, Chiba Prefecture, Kanagawa Prefecture, Kawasaki city, Chiba city, Saitama city, Sagamihara city, and Yokohama city, plus the Sailors from Yokosuka. The drill demonstrated how the area would respond to a disaster like the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami that struck northern Japan and illustrated the U.S Navy's role in the relief efforts.
