PHILIPPINE SEA (March 28, 2018) Marines with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) fast-rope aboard the Military Sealift Command large, medium-speed, roll-on/roll-off ship USNS Pililaau (T-AK 304) during a visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) drill. Pililaau, part of the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating in the Indo-Pacific region to enhance interoperability with partners, serve as a ready-response force for any type of contingency and advance the Up-Gunned ESG concept.
