Northern Flicker orange shafted

Yellow shafted Flickers show up in this region now and then. When they do, they sometimes mate with one of the regions most common red-shafted Flickers. And this is what we get. I don't catch that red marking on the back of the head often, there are a couple more examples in my Northern Flicker set. I've only seen yellow shafted females, no males that I have any photos of. Look at the original size to see this fellas markings more clearly!
