Deer Leap, New Forest
This was a composition I had seen many times on dog walks.
The ideal time would be a bright winter dawn when the sun would rise between a gap in the Pines and provide rich side lighting to enhance the natural colours.
It nearly worked as planned! I did, however, have to wait longer than I’d hoped as these trees are in a slight dip and so the sun had to rise slightly higher than I’d expected but thankfully its light was still soft and rich even 90 minutes after sunrise.
